A Letter to My 26-year-old Self
Dear Merryl,
Happy birthday. I know your day didn't go as planned but I know our heart felt a new kind of happiness that we wished we never let go of.
I would like to say thank you as you reached this number of years alive and didn't have any successful attempt of that miserable act.
I just want to ask you to learn to love and to trust people again. Some are not worthy of your doubts. Yes, protect our heart but don't put it in a cage where it wasn't allowed to do its purpose. Love life, self. Love people as God commanded you.
One of these people is your family. Love them and let them feel it. They are still here right beside us even in some days neither of us will ever take a glance on them. They love you and I know in that deepest child-like corner of you, you love them also.
Continue to work on our dreams. God didn't plant it in our heart for nothing. Strive for them.
Let us do our best to take good care of this physical body. Self, we already took medicines good for three years. Have enough sleep. Take things a little more lightly.
And lastly, thank you for letting me love you. I was late to do this but you still gave me a chance to do what I dream of and to drove away from what causes our heartaches.
Continue to live. I know you are excited to hug The Greatest One Above but do not aim it according to your time.
We talked about this. We will let Him to take the pen starting with today's page and trust in Him to continue this book called life. Believe in me and have faith in Him.
Will love and take good care of you always,
Merryl
