The War Inside Me Every Night

Woke up in the middle of my sleep
Here in this cold place

My eyes wanted someone
My hand wrote this confession

My body longs for your embrace
My heart beats fast
My brain thinks nothing but you

This is the nightmare I am fighting over and over again

Since the night you said we are over
Sinve the night you said you don't love me anymore
Since the night you said you loved someone and not me

I miss you and I can't do anything about it
I miss you and if I attempt to heal this, some back thought is bursting inside me

That you can't love me anymore the way you did that night
When you called me several times
Just to check if I am okay
After I called you and cried over the phone

That you can't love me anymore the way you did that night
When you wrapped your arms around me
Bodies intertwined in our house
Soft kisses and whispers of moans were your words

That you can't love me anymore the way you did that night
When you were excited coming back to our nest
Brought flowers to assure me of the thing I doubt
That you love me the most

This is the nightmare I am fighting over and over again
And I have no armor and sword to use
But the tears and own hand to wipe those
